Peter Battaglia is an attorney with Melvin & Melvin, PLLC, where his practice concentrates on commercial real estate, 1031 exchanges, mortgage foreclosure, real property litigation, and tax exchanges. Peter brings a disciplined, business-oriented approach to his legal work, drawing upon his combined background in law and business administration to deliver comprehensive and strategic counsel to clients across the real estate sector.

Peter earned his Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School in 2023. Prior to pursuing his legal studies, he received both his Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 2020 and his Bachelor of Science in 2018 from Coastal Carolina University. This dual foundation in business and law enables Peter to approach complex real estate matters with a nuanced understanding of the financial, transactional, and regulatory considerations that shape his clients’ interests.

Before joining Melvin & Melvin, Peter served as an assistant within the Oswego County District Attorney’s Office, where he gained substantial experience in criminal law, motion practice, and courtroom procedure. His time there refined his litigation skills and strengthened his ability to develop persuasive arguments—skills that he now applies effectively in real property and commercial litigation.

During law school, Peter also worked with James E. Neyman & Associates, P.C. in Boston, Massachusetts. In that role, he assisted in the drafting and review of purchase and sale agreements, loan and financing documents, and other real estate transactional materials. His experience in both litigation and transactional matters affords him a well-rounded perspective on the diverse issues that can arise in commercial real estate disputes.

Peter is committed to providing thorough, practical, and results-driven legal representation, helping individuals, investors, and businesses navigate the complexities of real estate law with clarity and confidence.
